A very common mistake, you optimize networks but not your website or your Google Maps tab. How and why you should get with it now. Brief, simple but necessary to do if you want your strategy to be optimized.

In recent weeks we have had many changes in the algorithms of Instagram, Facebook and of course Google and it seems that suddenly we have all gone crazy trying to update, optimize, enter keywords as if there was nothing else to do to appear in the first search posts.

We are facing one more change in the algorithm and that is why you have to optimize your networks but you do not do it on your website because it has already been done and you think it is enough.

As we have said many times, the webs have to be alive and for that you have to write. Sit down, think of a topic and start typing. There are no magical or cheaper methods than simply generating content.

You may not find it cheap because you have to pay someone and you consider it a useless expense because you don't see results immediately or you just don't see it. Do you know what you have to see?

KEY WORDS, ALGORITHMS AND OPTIMIZATIONS

When we had to make a website more than 20 years ago (personally I was making web pages for more than two decades and everything was easier because there weren't so many pages to show), then we already had keywords, hypertexts, hyperlinks that later ended being links. The keywords always took us to a special site, another page, more information, more… the keywords were more.

Today it has not changed as much as we think, only that we have to optimize better, not saturate our website with words without a strategy.

HOW TO OPTIMIZE YOUR NETWORKS, YOUR WEBSITE AND YOUR GOOGLE MAPS LIST

Write two paragraphs about your project or company, try to summarize your services and look for words that really identify you. Look for the words that connect with the essence of your work, not the ones that you think are most popular.

You can't compete against companies that advertise daily if you don't, but if you do and don't optimize your website, your strategy, you'll be wasting money.

Prepare the list of words, look for those words in networks, see if you find things similar to your work, maybe you will be surprised with new expressions or that your clients would search for you with other words.

The web has to be ALIVE, remember that! and also your networks, your hashtags have to change, do not think that what works for another company will work for you but look at what they do, how they promote themselves and look at your strategy: are you doing something similar?

TWO STEPS TO OPTIMIZE

Step 1: Add your # Do not generate keywords with websites or applications that do it automatically. Take the time to do it, think about it and put yourself in the shoes of your potential customers. How would you look for your services like those of your company? If you have previously created a marketing plan and defined your PERSON, think about how you would look for your services to find you.

Step 2: Get everything in tune. Your website, your networks and your Google Maps file have to be in the same line. Put the same description, that is brief, clear, with the chosen words but that do not exceed the 3 or 4 most important ones. Add your logo in the profile format, that means that it is well centered, in a vertical format.

Step 3: Contact form. Make it easy and simple to know how to contact you. Put your website correctly, do not use websites or apps like Linktree and add your contact phone number too. If you have a physical store, make it clear where it is with the full address.

Use measurement tools

For everything, and as we always insist, you must analyze results, interactions and act accordingly. If a publication is hitting it, look at the statistics and analyze which profile is interested in that publication, that audience may be new and you were not taking it into account. 

You need to analyze as much as possible everything you do, post and stop doing on Instagram in order to then assess which way to go or stop following.

If you don't measure results, if you don't adjust according to the metrics, then you'll be wasting time and you won't make progress or the next algorithm change can leave you blind and lose what you had achieved.
